Your overarching organizational and leadership goal is always continuous improvement. Continuous improvement leads to creating organizational excellence.

Successful implementation and evaluation of a strategic plan requires logical processes and adherence to them.

Failing to follow processes results in confusion, duplication, missed deadlines, and sometimes irreversible wrong decisions. Been there and know it from my experiences.

When we don’t communicate and follow processes, it can cause conflict and misunderstandings.

Continually and objectively review and improve your processes while also enhancing communication throughout the organization.

Here are a few specific things that we can do that ensure continued success:

  • If you have a written process in place, follow it. No exceptions. Your new executive will appreciate knowing such processes are in place.
  • If you don’t have a process, create a clear step-by-step path forward for each project or task. This should include the goals, steps, and deliverables. Review this with the teams and leadership and get approvals.
  • Use a communication tool that is comfortable to use. This could be email, chat, or video conferencing.
  • Be clear and concise when you communicate. Avoid jargon and acronyms.
  • Ask questions and seek clarifications if you don’t understand something.
  • Be respectful of each other’s time and opinions.
